Obviously, Mary Kissel's email system has been hijacked by some unwanted intrusion. Mark Monroe recently pointed out to me that if you receive a BIRDKY post that you are unsure about (these were pretty obvious, but some in the past have not been), you can confirm if they are anything to avoid by simply going to either the KOS site or the Birding on the Net site (http://birdingonthe.net/birdmail.html) and check out the recent postings. In this way, you can see what the content of the email was without risking opening up a dangerous link. Many people review BIRDKY in this manner without actually being subscribed and in this day of increased attacks from outside sources, it might be the way to go if you do not care to ever post to the listserv. bpb, Louisville ================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBERS============== The BIRDKY Mailing List requires you to sign your messages with first & last name, city, & state abbreviation. -------------------------------------------------- To post to this mailing list, send e-mail to: birdky@xxxxxxxxxxxxx -------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, send e-mail to: birdky-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject line. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Visit the Kentucky Ornithological Society web site at http://www.biology.eku.edu/kos.htm * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * BIRDKY List Manager: Gary Ritchison, Richmond, KY E-mail: gary.ritchison@xxxxxxx
