There probably isn't anyone chasing the "Great White Heron" reported at Freeman
Lake yesterday. Looks at it today by a few folks are suggesting it is just a
Great Egret, which it could very well be.
I made the call of Great White yesterday from across the lake, in part because
I photographed one there in November 2013

Yesterday's bird just looked big and with a long neck, but we really couldn't
see legs well because it was wading thigh deep in the water. Looking at the
2013 photos, though, I don't think its bill had the muted yellow color and
large size of a "Great Blue."
Anyway ... it seems this bird is just a Great Egret for what it's worth . . .
