Charlie,
Got to doubting my memory about snow being on the ground then. Googled
snow in KY 1968 and found that it snowed 11 inches in Bowling Green on March
22, 1968, among its top ten snowiest days. That was a Friday. I recollect
driving home from Austin Peay State University during a snow. Must have been
that one. That would have made the 25th a Monday. Classes were never canceled
for snow. The date I wrote in my field guide was in pencil and had an ink check
mark on top of it. I scanned it in and enhanced it, seeing that what I thought
was a 5 was a 3, so the date was the 23rd, a Saturday. I would have had to be
back in Clarksville before Monday.
