I again attempted to get to the Sloughs, Sauerheber Unit, this morning.
Down KY268 you can only go as far as the intersection with McDonald Landing
Road.
Residents beyond that point are getting out via tractors, and parking their
cars on KY268.
Looking at the Ohio River water levels:
The Ohio River is now slowly falling at both U’town Dam and Mt. Vernon.
At U’town Dam it will fall below Moderate Flooding on Friday 3/9 and below
Minor Flooding on Monday 3/12.
At Mt. Vernon it will fall below Moderate Flooding on Friday 3/9 and below
Minor Flooding on Sunday 3/11.
Maybe by Friday access might be possible to Sauerheber Unit.
Looks like (unless a lot more rain arrives) Sauerheber will be accessible by
opening day on Thursday 3/15.
