I tried to check out the Yellow-crowned Night-heron nest at Highland Creek, but
the creek level was too high and the road back there was impassable.
I guess I’ll have to wait for the Ohio to go back down again.
At Cape Hills I walked Martin-Martin Road, then walked the 4-wheeler trail
accessed via Mill Street in Smithmills.
Highlights:
FOS Summer Tanager
FOS Swainson’s Thrush
Ruby-throated Hummingbird (first I have seen away from home)
Pair of E. Kingbirds
Pair of White-eyed Vireos
I did hope for more birds, but as the loser says on Judge Judy: “It is, what it
is!”
