Overcast skies and rain threatening, but I headed out anyway.
Got to Horseshoe Road slough and within 2 minutes it was raining.
Drove over to U’town/Mt. Vernon Road slough: just Killdeer.
Drove out to Sand Slough, light rain. Got Least Terns.
Leaving Sand Slough along Straight Line Road I had a Red-tailed harassing a
Black Vulture on the ground.
Finally rain eased up and I drove back to Horseshoe Road sloughs, where after
10 minutes it finally quit raining.
Got Black-bellied Plovers (eBird flagged this), dowitcher.
Possible Stilt/Phalarope. I can’t tell. maybe even a yellow-legs. Need help
with this ID.
