In order I covered Mill Pond Road (KY1547) sloughs, Grassy Pond/Powells Lake
sloughs, and Horseshoe Road slough.
Most productive was GP/PL.
Highlights:
1 Semipalmated Plover
3 possible Semipalmated Sandpipers (I’m waiting on confirmation)
At HRS I flushed a large shorebird about 15 feet from the water. It called
repeatedly as it flew away to the south.
I am terrible at shorebird calls so have not idea what it was. Could be
dowitcher??
Great Egrets continue to outnumber Great Blue Herons. I keep hoping for a
Little Blue Heron or a Snowy Egret.
