Highlights:
Bell’s Vireo
Willow Flycatcher
At one point, for about 5 minutes, I had a Red-winged Blackbirds flying along
overhead following me. It was about 10 feet above me and kept making alarm
clacks.
Other Red-winged Blackbirds would check out what the excitement was about, but
then they would move on. This continued for over 100 feet as I walked.
I would expect this around a nest. But it didn’t seem the case.
The only thing I can figure out was that I had on a khaki hat with the image of
Rusty Blackbird on it.
Never had seen this behavior before. Really strange.
The ducks I assume were Mallards but I couldn’t really tell. They flew up from
a creek and away through the willows.
