All the rain has surely raised the water level Horseshoe Road slough. Deer
flies are keeping me out of the Sloughs Sauerheber Unit. I have just visited
Sandy L. Watkins Park. So it was off to Green River State Forest.
A few Deer flies, but I only got bitten once (it still itches, but the pain is
gone).
Another ho-hum day, birding wise.
Only warblers seen were Yellowthroats and Chats.
Most Barn Swallows I have seen in one group this year was on the power lines
just past the parking lot.
I was surprised to hear a Wood Thrush out there this time of year. Not really a
heavily wooded area.
