The Harris’s Sparrow has continued to hang out yesterday and again today. It
seems to be feasting mostly on black oil sunflower seed. I was at work, but my
“feeder watchers” reported a visit by a juvenile Cooper’s Hawk. It perched
briefly on the feeder, before leaving without a meal. We normally run a
thoroughly non-discriminatory, equal-opportunity, feeding operation...but we’re
not rooting for the Cooper’s right now.

A Harris’s Sparrow appeared under the feeders, at a few minutes past noon
today. We digi-scoped a few photos through a back-reflecting window, which
I’ve Flickr posted.
My Tree Sparrows from earlier were probably “imagination-enhanced” Chipping
Sparrows, but the Harris’s is for sure.
Frank, it doesn’t seem to answer to Jeeves, but it could be a grand baby...?
