Downy Woodpeckers at our suet is an everyday-common sight here. However, though
we do see Hairys here, this morning was the first I have ever seen one at the
suet cake. I scrambled to set up the scope and get a photo and, while I was
occupied, a Downy appeared that was obviously unhappy about sharing suet with
this brute. The Downy repeatedly darted in and out of the frame and I managed
only one with the two of them together (Flickr link follows). I have often
wished for an opportunity to get the two species in the same photo!
