About 40 minutes ago, I got a photo of a Loggerhead Shrike, on the wire
about 200 yards west of the house.
Then, just a few minutes ago, a tight v-flock of Greater White- fronted
geese, passed over the house, with a single Snow Goose among them. They were
flying very high an I only became aware of them because of their distant but
distinctive calls.
As I am writing this, I’m standing along the bean field at the corner of our
property… A juvenile Cooper’s Hawk landed on my scope, which is right next to
me! It came from behind me and startled me! I jumped, which startled it,
But we got a really good look at each other :-)
There are Swamp Sparrows, and Flickers everywhere! It’s a really good bird
morning.
