I've been seeing solo great egrets crossing downtown Louisville almost daily
for the last month or so, apparently on their way to the Falls of the Ohio.
Today I was driving to my favorite Mexican restaurant (Taqueria La Mexicana
6201 Preston Hwy., Louisville) when I saw one hunting in the drainage ditch the
runs under Preston Hwy. and the intersection of Bennett Lane. There's a fair
bit of green space-but very little water-nearby.
