Yesterday morning, there were a half dozen geese on Middle Pond. They were
almost taking off, then coming back to a rest on the water. Tire Island nest
was unattended. There seemed to be some kind of disagreement going on. This
morning, a goose was once again sitting on Tire Island nest, another was
swimming nearby and 4 others were well away from the pond, in the pasture. The
thought bubble that I could clearly see as they looked at me was, “Make us a
Tire Island too.”
Only problem, there is no other large tractor tire and no other island.
When we got back to the house, I spotted a Rose-breasted Grosbeak on the feeder
as I passed trough the kitchen.
