I just had 30+ fly over my house in LaRue Co. That was how many I was able to
count once I noticed then a few more after I went to grab camera.

We saw 1 nighthawk the other evening in Northern Franklin County. We hardly
ever see them.

I had a few groups pass over my area this evening, including two birds that
dropped to less than 20 ft altitude right over my yard as some friends and I
were playing volleyball. About twenty-five individuals total.

One of my favorite spots on our small plot of land is the far southwest corner,

105°, just south of east, around the south and to about 330°, northwest.  A few
minutes ago, I started a scope pass of the horizon, in the east, then swung
that 225°, counting Nighthawks as I went.  I’d guess it took about two minutes,
and I ended with 39.  There were others overhead as I did this. I’m guessing
there were at least 55 in view, if I’d had another set of eyes.
The breeze is unfavorable, pretty stiff at times,  coming from the southeast.
Many of them are flying directly into it.
