Rob Lane, Rod Bodkins, and I spent the first half of today chasing birds around Cherokee Park as part of the Fall Migration count. We ended with 63 spp., despite some odd misses: no vultures, Accipiters, Brown Thrasher, Phoebe, and we were somewhat thin on vireos and warblers. Highlights: fly-by Bald Eagle, calling Screech-Owl, Nighthawk, Yellow-bellied Flycatcher, Gray-cheeked and Wood Thrush, calling Baltimore Oriole. Warblers: Northern Waterthrush Black-and-white Warbler Tennessee Warbler Nashville Warbler Common Yellowthroat American Redstart Magnolia Warbler Bay-breasted Warbler Chestnut-sided Warbler Palm Warbler A wet early morning turned into a really great day!
