About 12:35 while driving up Tates Creek road I saw a black vulture and a group of about 20 cranes in a V. Looked like they were over Nicholasville road flying south towards Fayette Mall. I pulled off and took a quick look with binoculars and noticed they had dark wingtips. They were about a half mile away, about 500 feet elevation, and in all probability Sandhills, but even the possibility of that many Whoopers makes me look forward to the Xmas count this weekend.
