Stop down by McElroy Lake in Warren Co. on the way back from a work trip. The lake is entirely dry though there were two little puddles next to a stream that runs through the area. There were a few killdeer, two Snipe, and a Greater Yellowlegs present. Also in the area there was a single Barn Swallow fly-by, several Savannah Sparrows, and a single Vesper Sparrow. In Madison county, migration was noticed by 75 double-crested cormorants roosting on Lake Reba. Also present are 4 breeding plumaged Common Loons, a couple Horned Grebes getting nice, a pair of Blue-winged Teal and several Pied-billed Grebes.
