This morning, Alison and I encountered a muttering Loggerhead Shrike atop a
Persimmon tree near the road. Proceeding on our routine front field circle, we
encountered a shrike again atop a dead Sassafras near the barn. The dead
Sassafras is within line of sight of the spot where we saw our first shrike,
but too far to determine whether our initial bird was still where we left it.
