We continue to see Nighthawks, each evening, here. Last evening I counted 34 in
a few minutes and I’m certain there were many more. Many were hunting very low
over the soybeans, southeast of the house, which hasn’t been my experience this
year.
Last year, we counted the first migrant on August 23 and they dribbled to an
end on September 16. This summer they appeared two days earlier, and we’re
still seeing many, each evening, five days later than our last 2021 record.
