Nine birders joined me this morning at Cherokee Park from 8am till 1130 am for a great day of fall migrants. Weather was cloudy but dry and cool. 54 species were tallied including 11 warbler species and 4 vireo. Birding continues to be best by creek across from entrance of maple road. That is were we had n. Waterthrush,golden-winged, flycatchers, and several others. Birds including grosbeaks, tanagers, vireos, warblers and flycatchers were feeding pretty low in the secondary growth there. Off to CA for a few days for birding and a pelagic ; ) hoping to finally break ABA 600 species lower 48. Wish me luck!! See you next week.
