I recorded another Broad-winged Hawk, last evening. It was the first really
favorable (for me) weather, to get out and watch since I saw them a week ago.
It seems that their evening path–in-the-sky is between us and the setting sun,
which is well north of West, nearly a month after the equinox. There was only
one of them, but it was fun to watch it find a thermal, gain some altitude, and
then scoot off to the north.
Otherwise, we recorded our first House Wren, yesterday, and our first
Hummingbird, this morning, 16 days later than last year.
The Blue Grosbeak has been absent all week, but appeared first thing this
morning at the feeder.
Our garage is overrun by baby Carolina Wrens :-)
