This morning I met with members of the Boone Conservancy and the Boone County
Conservation District to tour and discuss development of a birding trail in
memory of former KOS President and member, Lee McNeely. The trail has been
"roughed in" towards the back of the 45 acre Boone Conservancy Park, which is
just off KY 18 near Belleview. The site can be found by referring to the eBird

Including this morning's list, the Park has only had 16 eBird checklists
submitted for it. I suspect that some birders, particularly in northern Ky.,
have birded there without submitting lists. The folks developing the birding
trail would like to have bird sighting info compiled for the Park, so this
email is a request for the submission of eBird lists for the site, either from
prior or future birding.
If you are not an "eBirder" but have some data to submit, please pass it along
to me for entry into eBird. The most critical information is the species and
date; of course numbers and time spent on the Park are also helpful.
Recollections of any sightings with date(s), even if not complete lists of
birds from the Park, are welcomed.
I know it's really HOT out there, but within a few weeks, fall songbird
migrants will be appearing and some nice lists of fall birds from the Park are
not far away. There is a *bit* of shorebird habitat present on the main lake,
and it may get a little better if dry weather continues.
