At Muhlenberg County Sinclair WMA Bobwhites are plentiful. I have been doing a
3.2 mile fast paced hike on the loop haul road almost daily the past month.
From the time I get out of the vehicle until I return I hear and occasionally
see 1 or 2 Bobwhites every quarter mile or so. Sometimes they pop bob fly up
right beside me. Usually see a couple of turkeys, too.
By the way the Mississippi Kites at the Bellview, FL housing area continue
their feeding frenzy on grasshoppers. 100 plus. 3rd week. This will rank as one
of the top FL bird scenes of the year.
Sorry to report the passing of the Florida Halifax Audubon naturalist, birder
and butterfly expert, Chuck Teague. He loved to present programs and lead
outings with his wife, Joan. He will be missed. Nice friendly very
knowledgeable guy.
