While driving along Caldwell Rd in Boyle County about 3 miles from Danville, I got a good look at a bobolink sitting on a fence post. They have been known to nest in this location the past, even though the books say we're too far south. Most of the pasture along Caldwell Rd has been cut for hay. Hopefully that hasn't affected their ability to nest. Also, in May we were concerned on our property in the Knobs (Boyle Co.) about the absence of wood thrushes, but they now are singing away, loud and clear. Maybe they were late to return this year.
