Black oil sunflower seed has gone up a lot but we are finding it’s cheaper at
Walmart than at Tractor Supply.

No need for dye! Just 1 part sugar to 4 cups water.

I am thinking about mixing the 3-d mix with my cereal, umm good.
But, really. Cracked corn, not whole corn, from Rural King, 40-50 lb bag is
cheap, store in a metal garbage can with a metal top, and mice cannot get to
it. No extra ingredients are added to the cracked corn. Every species of bird
eats it, including woodies. People with animals buy a lot of cracked corn,
think chickens, rabbits, hamsters, etc.
Black stripe sunflower seed, 3 times as expensive, also tops. Store in a metal
can. A heavy bag, 40-50 lb bag.
Tractor Supply, also a great store, probably has both.
The bird food list goes on and on.
Suet, grape jelly, Ohio Buckeye blossoms, orange halves....and more
Note, whole corn great for wild turkeys. Which you can legally feed if not
hunting the turkeys.
Sugar water, maybe with red dye #2, ??, for the Hummers. There used to be
something suspect about the red dye?

everything.
However, now that I read the ingredient listing, I'm not so sure and would like
to hear others' opinions on this product (as it seems there's more in it that
what I can see with my naked eye) -

I am curious where people get their bird seed from. What do you put out for
the birds? Any particular brand? I usually buy Audubon brand. Is that a good
one? Is there a mail order source that you use?
I make my own hummingbird juice, but I’m not sure about the rest.
Thanks in advance!
