Fascinating to watch this evening: a red-shouldered hawk was perched in a tree
in our front yard directly above our bird feeders. I've watched sharpies and
Cooper's hawks arrive in the yard, which causes the birds at the feeders to
scatter in chaos. Not so with the red-shoulder - the feeder birds didn't miss
a beat, even when it lifted off.
