You my want to check out this link - KDFWR is asking for help in locating
barn owl nests.

Alison and I usually walk up Wash Gunn Road in late afternoon. No one
clears the snow off Wash Gunn Road, so for the last couple of days we have
walked up Watermelon Road. Yesterday, after we had walked to our turn
around point and were coming back, a Barn Owl flushed from a cedar on the
right of way, flew over my front hay field toward the house, crossed the
road beyond the house and appeared to light in another cedar. We walked on
down to that tree but it wasn’t there. I assume it was on its original
perch when we walked by it the first time and had been perched there as
cars passed by throughout the day. It must have decided it was about time
to get up when we passed back by. I’ve never flushed a Barn Owl from
anywhere other than a building or silo before.
