Early this morning, I stopped on the bridge on Ditmore Ford Road on the
northside of our community park, and I was surprised to see a bald eagle
flying away from me, about 75 yards away. It was unmistakable, being so
large, with a white tail and head. I grabbed my camera and took a shot
without focusing, because I saw that it would not be in view very long (it
was like shooting from the hip). I caught only its tail; I was lucky to
get any image. The experience only lasted about 3 seconds (it flew around
the corner), which made me appreciate it even more. It's interesting how
fleeting images give us the most excitement; maybe not for everyone, but
for me, at least.
