I reported this as an incidental observation via eBird, but I appreciate not
everyone uses it eBird and wanted to get the word out to those who may be
interested. One adult bald eagle: huge raptor, dark brown with white head, big
yellow bill along Beargrass Creek on Pee Wee Reese Road near the intersection
of Seneca Park Road by the Seneca Park golf course. There's a pull-off parallel
parking area there for about three to four vehicles just upstream of a road
bridge crossing Beargrass Creek. (If you bird Seneca, you've probably parked
there before.) Just upstream of that bridge is a footbridge that the golf
carts used previously. Go another 50 yards upstream of that footbridge and that
is the area. Initially, it was perched atop a snag but flew upstream a short
distance and landed in the trees on the opposite side of the creek. I did
manage a decent smartphone photo. All that said, road conditions in the
immediate vicinity are not great due to the winter weather.
Good birding,
