Lake Cumberland has dropped nearly 4 feet since last Wednesday and the mudflats are more extensive than I've seen them in August. Last year it didn't drop to that elevation until October. 10 shorebird species were present today with a molting adult STILT SANDPIPER and 2 juvenile WESTERN SANDPIPERS being my first of the season for the area. ~Roseanna Denton Science Hill, KY Pulaski County ================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBERS============== The BIRDKY Mailing List requires you to sign your messages with first & last name, city, & state abbreviation. -------------------------------------------------- To post to this mailing list, send e-mail to: birdky@xxxxxxxxxxxxx -------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, send e-mail to: birdky-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject line. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Visit the Kentucky Ornithological Society web site at http://www.biology.eku.edu/kos.htm * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * BIRDKY List Manager: Gary Ritchison, Richmond, KY E-mail: gary.ritchison@xxxxxxx
