A male Dickcissel was singing up a storm in a small tree in the grasslands
close to the Grand Allee Wetlands. There may have been a female bird in the
grasses but we were unable to get a positive ID. Young birds are beginning to
appear - Orioles and robins were feeding fledglings - and other birds were busy
carrying food to their nests. A Mockingbird was singing the song of the Summer
Tanager and had us looking around for a red bird. Complete list follows.
