Monday 11-18-02 An adult female Rufous Hummingbird is coming to our feeder in south Warren Co. since Friday 11-15. Saturday morning, hummingbird bander, Chris Sloan captured the bird and it had ALREADY been banded! It is a beautiful bird with a rather large iridescent central throat spot. Chris is still tracing the band number and thinks the number might be from the western U.S. I will keep you posted. Though, I did not see it during the morning on Sunday, it was at the feeder this morning at 6:45 CT, and its last visit was at 4:00 PM. It fed about one of two times every hour. I took several photos and would be glad to e-mail one to anyone interested. Jackie B.
