Saturday would have been such a good day for sharp pictures with full sun & no
wind, but field operations made me turn around before even getting to the
Parsons Pond pull off. Sunday was sunny too, but I bought some pea gravel at
Lowe’s and used that afternoon to add pea gravel to tire island. Took me an
hour afterward to regain feeling in my feet. Finally made another stop at
Parsons Pond Monday afternoon. Wind made pictures tough to get, but there
wasn’t that much to see anyway. 10 Blue-winged Teals, 7 Mallards and 11
Ring-necked Ducks. My lists there now include song birds that used to be absent
because of a change in management of that area. A thirty foot grass strip has
been established along the wooded property border and none of the bottom
containing the pond is being worked any more.
