Spotted 3 Harriers as we drove up at 4:15 pm cst to the S-2 High Point. Over
the next 30 minutes we totalled 8 Harriers and zero Short-eared Owls. We do not
know where the owls were today.
It was breezy and the Harriers were having a great time soaring and more, but
not one single owl was spotted this evening.
We were also out there at 0330 to 0430 this morning looking for meteors,
Geminids. We saw 21 and half of those were bright, mostly with short tails, but
clearly radiating from the Twins. Just before we departed one very bright
meteor shot across at least 1/4 of the sky.....The temperature was 18 degrees
but we were prepared for that. At 0330 Gemini is straight overhead and a little
to the west. It was crystal clear except for near the horizon.
Going back out early in the morning.
