Dear all,
An opportunity has arisen for a short term research assistant, to start
immediately for 3 months, in support of a project on diagnostic approaches
for parasite infections in livestock. The post would be desk-based, and
involve stochastic simulation and statistical analysis to optimise faecal
egg counting methods for monitoring infection and drug resistance in
grazing animals. A sound grasp of statistics and operating knowledge of R
is required; experience with simulations in biology would be welcomed. This
might suit a PhD student having recently submitted their thesis and/or a
postdoc in search of a bridging opportunity between posts. The post is full
time and based at the Life Sciences building in Bristol; other situations
can be considered but start date must be as soon as possible. A self-driven
candidate could work independently off-site with regular management
meetings. At least one paper is expected to result. Interested parties
please reply as soon as possible to eric.morgan@xxxxxxxxxxxxx, copying in
hannah.rose@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
All the best,
Hannah
