Category 1 is the highest level of acceptance and includes some type of physical evidence of the sighting. In this case photographs served as the physical evidence. This is the third record for the Mountains and Valleys. We very much appreciate the time and effort you took to document this species in Virginia. With help from our fellow birders, we hope to significantly improve the archive of ornithological data for Virginia and your efforts represent an important part of that. Thanks very much for documenting this species and we look forward to more submissions from you in the future. Sincerely, Wendy Ealding Secretary, Virginia Avian Records Committee
