Jerry, I think that one should be named Red-chested woodpecker. I'm like you, I
have never seen that much red on one's underparts.

Jane & I just got back from a week of babysitting the granddaughter. Tough job,
but it had to be done. While we were there, we saw this Red-bellied Woodpecker
on one of their suet feeders. Probably the reddest belly I’ve ever seen on one
these birds.
