Good afternoon!
On behalf of the Virginia Society of Ornithology, the Monticello Bird Club, and
the Augusta Bird Club, I am writing to make sure that your club's members know
that this year's VSO annual meeting will be May 8-10, headquartered at the
beautiful Wintergreen Resort with its spectacular mountain-top setting. Full

Could you kindly help us spread the word to the members of your club, whether
by forwarding this directly to your members, announcing at your next meeting,
or including in other communication?
A few things to keep in mind:
* We welcome all birders and naturalists, whether or not they are
personally members of the VSO. (Of course, we hope that participants will have
such a rewarding experience that they will wish to join the VSO, but it is not
mandatory.)
* April 8 deadline for lodging reservations at special VSO rates
(single/double rooms or a 2-, 3-, or 4-bedroom condo) is coming up fast! See

* Register by April 30 by using the online Paypal form at
http://www.virginiabirds.net/VSO-Annual-Meeting-Registration.html , or
downloading a form that can be printed and mailed with a check.
This will be a very special weekend of birding and excellent companionship. In
addition to a variety of field trips on both designed to find Blue Ridge avian
specialties, a special highlight of the weekend will be the Saturday evening
banquet with keynote speaker Scott Weidensaul, internationally known author,
naturalist, conservationist, and Pulitzer-Prize nominee. He'll speak on Project
SNOWStorm, focusing on Snowy Owls.
