I quit counting at 120 this morning. As ususal, it is overcast and raining this morning and did not provide good lighting for pictures. I need to paint my fence green so it would show the birds better. We are starting to see more color on them as the weeks pass. I was traveling yesterday from Lousiana back to Texas on Interstate 10 just West of Lafayette, when I spotted a large flock of Geese in a rice field near the interstate. I did not have the camera, wish I had. There were several thousand geese on the ground and flying near the roadway. There were Snow Geese, Speckle Belly, and Canadians. I have seen this many times over the years during my frequent travels to Louisiana. It is great to see large numbers of these beautiful birds. As I stopped to look, you could almost reach across the fence and touch them. What a sight to see. Good Birding Skip McClellan Conroe, Texas Temp 47 degrees, Rain
