Went looking for a long-tailed duck today and thanks to Mark Mullins I found
7! This has been an elusive duck and is a life bird for me. They were on the
new river near Claytor lake, just below the dam. I also got good lucks at
Gadwalls in Saltville, Ruddy and ringnecks at Rural Retreat. The ruddy ducks
are changing into breeding plumage and were quite colorful.
