I had 39 bird species in and around our yard today. The list is below, but
some of the more interesting ones were 6 hummingbirds eating from our
feeder while I still held it, a Hairy Woodpecker, and Eastern Wood Pewee, a
White-eyed Vireo, a Yellow-throated Vireo, 4 Brown Thrashers, 5 Eastern
Bluebirds, 2 Wood Thrushes, 3 Orchards Orioles, 4 Baltimore Orioles, 2
Hooded Warblers, 1 American Redstart, 1 Magnolia Warbler, 1 Yellow Warbler,
2 Scarlet Tanagers, 11 Rose-breasted Grosbeaks again today and 1 Indigo
Bunting.
My best photo opportunity of the day came when a mama Groundhog, who gave
birth to 3 babies this spring under a brushpile at the edge of the woods,
came into the yard with one of her young ones. (see attached photos)
