Hello fellow birders,
Several members of our two clubs are planning an outing to Rankin Bottoms in
Cocke Co. TN this Saturday. We hope to find many of the migrating shorebirds
for which this location is famous. We plan to meet at Tinseltown theater at
exit 7 off Interstate 81 in Bristol, VA at 7:30 am. It is my understanding
that optimum viewing conditions at Rankin Bottoms is in the afternoon hours, so
we'll probably visit some other areas before we head that direction. Anyone is
welcome and encouraged to join us and I'm sure that we'll carpool as much as is
possible. Lastly, if you join us, you may want to pack lunch or snacks, as
it's hard to predict where we'll be when the urge to bird is overcome by those
pesky hunger pangs?
