Hi All, This morning after filling the bird feeders I was in the backyard when a couple of birds feeding in the low shrubs near the edge of the yard caught my eye. I moved closer and saw that they were Worm-eating Warblers. One was a juvenile, and while I was standing very still, it flew to within 3 feet of me and perched beside me. It then flew to the branch of an apple tree about 6 feet away and began to feed near two chickadees. While watching it I saw another bird in the same tree and thought at first it was a Brewster's Warbler. I eased away and hurried into the house to get the camera. When I returned I didn't find it at first, but a beautiful male Hooded Warbler flew up in front of me. I then found two Blue-gray Gnatcatchers, one of which was a juvenile. I took a couple of quick photos as one sat in an Elderberry bush, then a female American Redstart perched on an Iron Weed plant just a few feet away, so I got a photo of it. I then saw one of the Worm-eating Warblers in a cherry tree just in front of me picking at some dead leaves. I finally found the bird I was searching for, and saw that it was a Blue-winged and not a Brewster's. Just after I got back in the house a male Indigo Bunting came to the tube feeder.
