I am at laptop and confirmed it is accurate now.
I don't have your BAS list, but if you send it to me, I can forward this for
everyone.
It is interesting to see that some shooter scores really did change their
rank. Overall, not a lot of movement - but anyone with high level of downs
did take a dive.
Personally, if they want to emphasize accuracy more, they can make scoring
more progressive. Example:
1 pt down = 1 sec
3 and 5 pts down = 2 seconds
That would penalize sloppy shooting and emphasize accuracy.
But some might argue that makes IDPA more like bullseye
I have plenty to work on, so I'll just keep shooting and not worry too much
about score. I have more fun that way

Thanks. I'll check. Had problems copy/pasting from web page. Originally, his
column was over one.

Thanks. As I suspected, the one second rule didn’t significantly affect
placement.
BTW, your calc on John Bannon is using the wrong column.
Feel free to post to the BAS list.

Hey, Wade
Just for laughs, I took our last IPDA match (Dec 4) and put all the scores
in a spreadsheet. I then took points down and divided by 2 (to add in the
other 1/2 second so we count PD as full sec) and re-computed scores. Check
the last two columns in the attached.
Obviously, this only takes into account the 1 sec PD change and doesn't
account for any other score change "whatifs" - but it is interesting to see
the change. Nothing earth shattering, but there were a few ranking changes
due to the higher emphasis on accuracy.
