Dan, we found a good site called Bronco Trail Head, about 11 miles north of the
Sears-Kay ruins. No lights, dry pit toilet. Road nearby but little traffic.

Well I just learned a few things. First, there's a lot of people who
would like to find az-astrosites.KMZ (or whatever it was called).
Second, the latest version of Google Earth has drag&drop import for GDB
files from GPS devices (and perhaps other formats). Third, I was pointed
to such a file on the SAC website maps page, so lacking the original KMZ
that's at least a good start. I'll be adding additional sites in the
North Valley area based on my personal experience. If anyone has other
favorite "less than an hour from Phoenix" sites, please send me the
specs and I'll incorporate those as well. If we can get this resource
assembled it'll be a great use to all of us. I welcome any submissions,
thanks. -Dan Heim
