Tony,

I gave talks on this subject at both big Phoenix clubs. It's a stacked
image using a monochrome camera with R, G, and B filters. I do 1000
frames (or more) in each color channel. Since Saturn is faint in a
10-inch, I can only use 15 frames per second.

If you want to learn how to do tri-color image, it's hard to do better
than Mike Salway's tutorial.

Tom,

Another great image of Saturn.

Are these images a single shot or a stacked image??

Can you give some details about the exposure data.

Happy New Year to you and Jen.

Tony

I got up again at 4:00 to do a seeing check, hoping the result would be
a return to bed. But no, there was only a bit of image motion at 300x.
I came away with a much better image of Saturn than yesterday's. Notice
that Titan has moved to the east of the planet.

Still need to mess with the color balance, or are the edge-on rings
really that red compared to the disk?
