As I was driving to work this mooring, I happened to see two bright objects on the eastern horizon. They were only about 3 degrees off the horizon at about 6:30 am. (I enjoy an unobstructed view of the desert as I approach Palo Verde.) They were about 1/2 finger width apart with my hand fully extended. I checked Guide when I got home and found that the objects are Venus and Mercury. I checked for tomorrow's view and found that they will still be very close (less than 20 arc minutes). Something to check out if you happen to be up at that time and have access to a low eastern horizon. They are about 120 degrees east of true north.
