We were fortunate in Arizona to have four consecutive clear nights to watch
Venus pass in front of The Pleiades star cluster. I photographed it at the
same time each night with the identical exposure, and put together this
mosaic.
Each image was made by median-combining four 4-second exposures with a Canon
6D camera through a telescope with a focal length of 540mm. Scattered light
from the overexposed Venus created some severe gradients across the frame
that are difficult to remove.
