Hello to all outreach stargazers!
Gina Poulson with the National Park Service at Organ Pipe National Monument has
invited us to host various star parties at the Monument this year. Due to the
government shutdown, this is very short notice but someone may still be able to
help out.
The parties will be held on February 4, 2019 and again on March 6, 2019.
Additionally, each Saturday evening will be open for us to host stargazing
until mid-April until the weather gets hot.
There are camp sites available for us to use and there is drinking water
throughout the campsites. There is a sanitary dump site within the camp, but no
hook-ups at the sites. Most of us are self-contained anyway.
The dates available for us to host are on the new moon dates. The March 6 date
may conflict with our Messier Marathon but the Marathon site and the Monument
are not too far away from each other. Please note that all Saturdays are open
until mid-April.

Please consider helping out Gina with the star party outreach events. The
Monument is applying for a Dark Sky Park designation and the location will be
very dark and have cool nights at an elevation of 3,00 feet.
